Richmond, BC YAC's Benefit Brunch a Big Success!
On May 31, 2009, the Richmond Youth Foundation Benefit Brunch brought together more than 150 youth leaders and community leaders to advocate youth mentorship and youth-in-philanthropy.
This cross-generational networking event at the River Rock Casino Resort allowed Richmond’s aspiring leaders from diverse backgrounds to share experiences and learn from each other.
Both youth and adult leaders were matched based on fields of interest, and several networking activities sparked meaningful conversation that allowed attendees to connect and enhance leadership in the community.
While relishing a plated breakfast, the guests were inspired by the motivating speeches of prominent keynote speakers Michael McCoy, Executive Director of Touchstone Family Association and Nadia Meherally, Co-Chairperson of the Zenith 2009 Global Citizenship Conference and an Executive Councilor of the RYF.
The RYF Benefit Brunch also showcased an exciting video, featuring the various non-profit organizations that have received RYF grants over the past year. The recipients of the scholarships awarded by the Richmond Community Foundation were also recognized.
RYF hopes to continue to connect more leaders and to empower each individual to become actively involved in philanthropy in the Richmond community.
